The
Visit to France 2009
Thank you for replying and letting us know whether you are able
to visit Saint Georges this year. The official visit will be as
follows:
- Start at 2.00 pm (1400) on Saturday 23 May in front of the Town Hall
- Finish in the morning of Tuesday 26 May
There are over 40 people planning to go (20 families); this includes some visiting for the first time and some with children.
Please help our new visitors – they may well be meeting their French families for the first time, and possibly the Denmead families also. Do introduce yourselves to them and make them feel welcome.
If there are any members who are now able to come to France, let us know as soon as possible.
Saint Georges has said that they can take more visitors if there are any others who wish to come.
Travel to France
You all replied that you wished to travel independently to
France – so we’ll expect to see people travelling by various
combinations of ship, car, plane, train and bicycle!
Other Things – Social Events
The Mamma Mia event in January was a
splendid success – lots of people there, lots of dancing and
singing, some wonderful costumes and the evening exceeded
expectations.
The Welsh Evening on Saturday (7 March) was sold out and we had a full evening of good Welsh food and great Welsh entertainment. There will be more about that after the weekend.
A Garden Party on Sunday 14 June chez Trish Bailey will be the last Twinning social event before the summer. More details later – but do put the date in your diary.
